We had to look at various articles, books and videos and think about what school was like in the Olden Days.
Here are some of our ideas:
School in the past:
- They learnt how to shoot guns
- The boys wore suits and the girls wore dresses
- They drank milk and got apples everyday, hot milk
- They practiced writing on stone slates
- There was no gateway
- Most people left school by the time they were 14
- Putikitiki did not have a playground, it was flat
- Reading the school journal
- 40 people in one class
- A rugby pole on Putikitiki was cut
School now:
- New buildings
- TV’s, computers, iPads, ChromeBooks, laptops, projector, screens
- We don’t have to wear a uniform
- Pens and paper
- We are safe
- Clocks
- More colourful
- Youtube
- Library
- Air conditioning, heaters
- Putikitiki has a playground
