On Friday the 15th of February the whole school went to Hamilton Gardens to visit Te Parapara (Māori) Gardens.
We went to the gardens because we couldn't go to Hukanui Marae because there was a tangi after someone passed away.
First, we went on the bus. The bus ride was bumpy, fun and a bit squishy.
When we got to the gardens we went to the Te Parapara Garden. While we were there we saw a giant house, carvings and kumara growing.
The kapahaka performed haere mai, Rona and the haka. We thought the kapahaka was amazing.
After the kapahaka performed we sang E Hara E te Mea, then we went for a really long walk through the gardens. We saw trees, gardens, playgrounds, lots of plants, scarecrows and even some chickens!
We finally got to the Governors' Lawn for some kai in the shade.
Then we got to have a little play on the playground.
What a big day out in the sun!
