Hot Air Balloons

Last week, we noticed a lot of hot air balloons around the skies of Hamilton.

This week we have been thinking, observing and reading about hot air balloons.

We watched this amazing time lapse video that Rhonda shared with us.  We looked closely at the video and then shared what we could see, were thinking, and what we were wondering!

This week our poem was all about hot air balloons.  We noticed lots of verbs (doing words) in the poem!C Can you see them?

We did a science experiment to show how hot air rises.  We used a bowl of ice cold water and a bowl of hot water from the tap.  We put a balloon on top of a bottle and watched what happened.  When the bottle was in the cold water the balloon was floppy.  When the bottle was in the hot water the balloon inflated.  You could try this at home!
