D anger - watch out for things that could hurt you when you are helping someone
R esponse - talking to the person and trying to see if they are awake
S end for help! call 111 or find someone with a phone to call 111
A irway - push the head up, check the airway, flick out any food in the mouth
B reathing - check that the person is breathing, use your fingers above the collar bone in the squishy bit, check the nose and mouth for breathing, hand on tummy if it is moving up and down
CPR - don't just do this for fun, we will learn more about this when we are older.
Safe Side (recovery position)
If the person is spewing they are on their side so they don't choke
1. pillow hand
2. seat belt arm
3. mountain knees
4. roll onto the side
5. high five the ground
If a person cuts them self very badly this is what we do:
1. pack it - put a cloth on the cut and hold it really tightly
2. wrap it - bandage it around and around, start with the bandage as a 'happy snail', pull it tightly, up and down the arm so the blood doesn't come out at the top or the bottom, tuck in the end.
3. Put the bandaged arm or leg up to slow the bleeding
